The second week of our journey in Sydney was both educational and enjoyable. The week started with our visit to KordaMentha Real Estate Sydney office where Bucknell alumni Tony Massaro is a partner. Tony shared a very inspirational and exceptional story about himself. After Bucknell, Tony started a career in the US Army as an intelligence officer where he had various international experiences being to various continents and facing specific challenges which helped to gain extraordinary experiences and perspectives. Subsequently, he decided to go to Harvard Business School where he earned an MBA Degree. That helped him to be successful in different fields in the finance world like consulting, investment banking, and real estate in firms such as BCG, Stockland, ING, and PwC. What a great alumnus, every university would be proud to produce.
The rest of the week was spent in the usual rhythm. Going to the classes, visiting new beaches (fun fact, there are over 100 beaches in the Sydney area) and bars. I believe that is everything that every person on this trip is expected to do in his/her leisure time. However, something is adding a special touch to my journey here. On Saturday I visited the Blue Mountains, a mountain range 2 hours drive west of Sydney. There are over 90 canyons, and a wide variety of rock formations, valleys, and waterfalls. The highlight of the trip was walking on the tracks around the unusual rock formations called Three Sisters and Wentworth Falls. All in all, definitely a week for the books.
