This week may have the most hectic week of my life. There were too many ups and downs to count. Coming into the week I knew it was not going to be easy. I had a final paper and a final exam and in this Australian weather it is incredibly hard to get any type of work done or even lock in. So the week already started with a bit of stress and anxiety. I also had to give a class presentation in financial decision modeling, which was not bad but still all the work piled up.
So Wednesday rolls around I give my presentation and it goes smooth I get back to the apartment and immediately start studying for the final the next day which is on linear programming and sensitivity analysis. As I stated before getting work done in Sydney is more challenging than you would think because all you want to do is go to the beach or do something active. Safe to say I mastered the art of solver that night, but it took way longer and I probably should have prepared way further in advance. But, when you’re in a place like this it’s so worth the bit of stress for a second compared to the great times not inside studying. So, I take my exam and coming out of it I realized I was way over prepared. It took about 2 hours and change, but I was dialed.
I get home excited for the weekend ahead in Melbourne. I heard everyone rave about it because I have friends who visited for the Australian Open. I see the GAV email talking about it and about spring break scuba diving. Im reading the email and in bolded red it says “DONT FORGET TO BRING YOUR PASSPORT FOR THE FLIGHT”. Im looking around thinking to myself sure I have it so I put off looking for it til Thursday. Thursday rolls around and tearing apart everything trying to find this little blue booklet of a passport or anything that resembles it. I AM FREAKING OUT. The whole room I share with Trev is upside down and it’s nowhere to be found. I tell GAV and am about to make a police report when I call my friend and they say it’s at their place. I don’t know how it spawned there but thank god.
Then we get to Melbourne and I won’t lie it wasn’t as good as Sydney during the first day. The walking tour was nice, but the city was kind of mid. The night life on the other hand was sick. We went to this place called TURBO and I met the DJ who is in the photo below. She had a sick song and mix. I got her number too so future me if you marry this girl this is where it all started.
The rest of the week was nice. Good weather and I hit a person record in my 2 mile run time!
