Exploring Melbourne

This week I got to explore Melbourne, and it was filled with excitement. While the hotel was not as great as the Meriton, it was still an amazing experience. We did a walking tour, which ended up being way more interesting than I expected. I learned a lot about the Gold Rush and how some of the buildings are made with real gold just because of how much there was. We saw some Victorian style architecture, and it was interesting to see the unique patterns that came with it. Seeing the Victorian style housing in a city was interesting.

Being in a new place gave me the opportunity to eat, eat, and eat. One of the highlights for the trip was this chorizo sandwich that I got at the Queen Victoria Market. After that, I spent some time wandering around and found a little shop that was selling jade necklaces. Being the master negotiator that I am, I managed to get the necklace for $15 instead of $18. It might be a small win, but a win is a win nonetheless.

I’m also really glad that the first block of classes is over because this week has been hectic. It felt great to just slow down, walk around, and take in everything Melbourne has to offer. Looking forward to seeing what the next block of classes has to offer me. Heres a pic of of my sandwich.
