This week was heavily focused on feeding my love for art. At the start of the week, I had the opportunity to see my favorite R&B artist, Keshi. I originally didn’t have the intentions to attend a concert here in Australia but after finding out 2 days before the concert, that he was playing, I rushed to secure a ticket. I went with some non-Bucknell friends, and it was a great opportunity to bond with people outside of my close circle over shared interests. We enjoyed the show so much that we are thinking of possibly going to another one of Keshi’s performances during our time in Singapore.

In addition, finally got to explore the highly recommended Art Gallery of New South Wales. I visited a small part of the museum that held contemporary art which was really nice to see the different types of art works both 2D and 3D. In the front of the museum, there are lifelike-slenderman statues, and it was cool to see the original miniature models inside as well especially since I noticed some small differences between both works of art. My favorite piece of art was the decorated vases that portrayed the daily life of many aboriginals. It was an original way to express their message since it went outside of the box of painting on a canvas.

On Sunday, our Bucknell group took a big tour in the Sydney Opera house where we learned about the controversial history of the opera house. Craziest fact I learned, was that the construction of the opera house was $93 million way over budget. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take a picture of the main opera theater, it has simply encouraged me to go watch a show there. I am looking into potentially seeing “Dungeons and Dragons” because our tour guide mentioned it being interactive and it seemed really cool to experience.
