Week 6 Time in Hunter valley

This week has been a rollercoaster. My international finance class assigned both a quiz and an assignment so I did not have as much free time as I would have liked to. But during the weekend I was able to take some time off and enjoy the school trip. On our bus ride to the winery, we came across this little antique shop that had an assortment of items. I saw some vintage records, coffins, crystals, and a bunch of handcrafted goods. The food in the area could have been a little bit better but I was able to make up for it the day after.

Things did quickly pick up after our lunch break. We went to the first winery and I was able to learn the 5 S’s of wine drinking. We first See the wine, Swirl the wine, Smell the wine, Sip the wine, then we Savor the wine. Going through the 5 steps I was able better understand the sweetness, acdidity, tannin, and the alcohol content of the drinks that we were served. I also learned that I am a big fan of Semillion wine and some of the dessert wines that have a higher sugar content.

But what would be a blog post without food. On the last day I tried Pad Kee Mao with some beef. It was my first time trying a thai dish with thicker noodles. I have tried Pad thai, an assortment of curries, and different fishes. But this dish really stood out to me because of the emphasis on basil and the thicker noodles. I was not able to finish the whole dish but they did let me take my leftovers back for another meal. This weekend was incredibly fun and I am looking forward to the rest of my time in Sydney
