Week 6: Wine Tasting

Last week, I worked on a presentation for my contemporary politics class about the origin and cultural significance of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). I worked on this presentation with Deborah and Estrella as we all loved eating KFC in the different areas we have been in. We presented our findings on Thursday and it was nice actually learning about the origins of food that we have so much love for.

For the weekend, GAV took the Bucknell students to Hunter Valley in order to go wine tasting. Hunter Valley has a rich history of being a land and community of wine vineyards as the soil of the land is very rich for it. While I have had wine before in the past, I was never able to really gain a palette for it, and I never really got to discover what type of wine I liked before the trip.

I gained a real appreciation for wine during the weekend trip as all of the establishments displayed their most popular wine and the history and complexity of them. I really enjoyed white wine which interested me as my father and uncle always believed that I would be a red wine type of drinker. Red wine had too much of a weird aftertaste for me.

On Saturday night, a couple of friends and I decided to go on a beach walk, which extended to a long trail outside of the beach. While it was a little scary, it was nice experiencing the night life at such a quiet and peaceful place, especially with the beautiful stars in the sky (stars that my phone could not take pictures of).

thank you 🙂 (and sabrina says hello)
