Goodbye Sydney
As this week was our last in Sydney we made it our mission to fill our week with all the fun or touristy things we wanted to do. So, we started out the week by going to the botanical gardens and taking pictures in front of the opera house. It was nice to end our time in Sydney in the way we began it.
On Tuesday Stella and I went out for dinner at Kafe Kooks. They had a two person tasting menu which we ordered. It came with four appetizers, five different curries, and unlimited roti. It was one of the best meals I had in Sydney.
Thursday our class was canceled so we went out for brunch at Blackwood and then walked to Bondi Beach. I set down my stuff, got a coffee, and then went on the hunt for souvenirs. I somehow got lost and ended up going for a long walk along the beach, but it gave me time to appreciate the beauty of my surroundings. I finally found what I was looking for at the Ripcurl and then returned to the beach where I layed in the sun and read my book.
Friday was our last full day in Sydney, so Stella and I woke up early to go watch the sunrise at Bondi. It was a bit cloudy so we couldn’t see much of the sun, but it was beautiful nevertheless. We sat on the beach and watched as it came alive with joggers, exercise groups, and lifeguards in training. As we made our way back up the beach we noticed Harry’s was giving out free matcha. They had partnered with Carroten, a sunscreen brand for a special promotion. I got a free mango matcha that made getting up early worth it. And if you see a video of me looking a little bit rough in a Carroten ad, no you didn’t. That night we had a special dinner at Katanda, a Brazilian restaurant. Alexa, Sienna, Stella, and I all got the special tasting menu, which allowed us to try various appetizers and a main. It was all super fresh and flavorful and a perfect way to end our last day.
Saturday morning we flew out of Sydney for our Spring break trip. And as the plane took off all I could think about was how lucky I was to experience such an amazing city and with such special people.
