Continuing from spring break in Cairns, we had some great times there. We went to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure on Tuesday, a massive zoo. We took a boat through the swamp to see all the crocodiles, which was awesome. There were also koalas and kangaroos, which I was happy to see. After exploring the rest of the area, I saw a crocodile show where a guy was getting close to a crocodile. The day after that, we went to Fitzroy Island. It was an island near the Great Barrier Reef with beautiful beaches. It was a bit rainy but still a great time to relax on the beach. There was a swing on the beach that I stayed on for hours.

We had a free day on Thursday, so some friends and I went deep-sea fishing. I was excited because I have never been deep-sea fishing, and the Great Barrier Reef is a great place to start. I caught two cool reef fish at our first stop, but neither was big enough to keep. Everyone caught red snappers at one spot, but the one I noticed was too small. Tomy caught a shark, which was cool to see. After that, we took all the fish we caught to a restaurant so they could cook it for us.

I finally arrived in Singapore on Saturday, and the airport was terrific to see. It was one of the biggest airports in the world and has a massive waterfall in the middle. The city was also excellent; the tall buildings and lights reminded me a lot of New York, except that it was much cleaner. On Sunday, we explored the city a little; it is full of huge malls and buildings. It isn’t very clear to get around. The transit system is robust; I am still getting the hang of it. The food is fantastic! I had good Chinese noodle soup at my work food court for SGD 8. I look forward to exploring the city further.
