Week 11: Marina Bay Sands, Sentosa, and a Client Meeting.

Today marks the end of my second week in Singapore. I can finally say that I have fallen into a nice routine. Going to work, eating at hawker centers, and going to a gym within a super mall all seem like regular parts of my day. Although I am falling into a rhythm, this week was still special because of the interesting and fun activities me and my friends decided to do.

Before I talk about the things I did after work, I will first talk about the interesting things I did at work.

Lately, I’ve been diving into market research focused on fintech firms and the evolving landscape of Open Finance regulation. It’s been fascinating to see how financial technology is shaping up in this part of the world, especially with all the innovation happening across Southeast Asia. One of the coolest experiences this week was getting to sit in on a potential partnership meeting. I had the chance to take notes and witness firsthand how face-to-face business interactions unfold. It was a great learning moment and gave me insight into how deals and collaborations are explored in the real world.

Outside of work, I made the most of my time with friends. One night, we went up to the iconic Marina Bay Sands to visit the rooftop restaurant and bar, CÉ LA VI. The view was absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere made for a really fun night out.

Then on Saturday, we spent the day at Sentosa, which was an absolute blast. We rode gravity-powered go-karts, definitely a highlight, and enjoyed some time soaking in the sun at the beautiful beach.

Week two in Singapore has been a mix of settling into daily life and soaking up new experiences. I’m excited to see what the coming weeks bring.
