Family Visit

For this blog im a couple days late because I wanted to write about the last week and a half collecgtivly. These past couple of day my Mom and sister were able to make the trip over to Singapore. I had so much fun showing them around the city that weve been living in and having the chance to introduce them to all of my new friends.

My mom said I did a good job comparing Singapore to New York as at times it feels like all there is to do is shop and eat. I made sure throughout the trip to take them to all my favorite spots and new spots that I have been wanting to try. In their first night I took them to Fortuna a restaurant Stella, Maddie, Alexa, Lauren and I had visited our first weekend here becasue I knew they would LOVE the pizza as much as I did. I also took my mom to my favoirt coffee places French fold, Alchemist, and Ralphs. Two spots high on my list to try was Sushisamba and Lavo. They were both so so much fun but my favorite was LAVO. Stella joined us out for dinner that night and we had to order the 20 layer chocolate cake which might have been the best desert I’ve ever had in my life but i did eat substantially more then everyone else so I was out of comission the next day.

While walking around china town we we stopped into Nakey Cafe which is a spot I will definitly be brining the rest of the apartment too before we leave to try they biscoff coffee and truffle fries.

I had also been saving up all my touristy things to do while they were here so I could enjoy all the museausm and different sights witht hem. My favorite acitivity was the cloud forest and the flower dome at gardens by the bay. I LOVE LOVE LOVE FLOWERS but am not a fan of the outdoors so it was the perfect combination for me. when we were in the garden dome there were also people sitting and paiting the different flowers which I really enjoyed watching.

In China town we also stumbled upon the Sri Mariamman Temple which is the oldest hindu temple in Singapore. To this day it is still used for the fire walking ceremony and I found it extremely interesting and beneficial that once in the temple tourists can only proceed to a certain point as this helps maintain those that attend the temple regularly.

Above all I do love my routine so my favorite night of the trip was one day where I was able to bring my mom to my pilaties class and we went to grab dinner after. Once we were done with dinner we went back to my apartment with a cake to hang out with my roomates and more so to get redemption for the cake disaster that was mentioned in stella and alexas blog weeks ago.
