This week at my internship was shorter than the rest, but it was a great week. I was assigned to gather files from the company’s loan database to report to PWC. This, along with doing the normal daily tasks that are expected of me. It was a great experience, learning how to use accounting software for basic accounting tasks. I even got to research the New Zealand laws on unclaimed money and create a policy for the company. Throughout my internship, all my coworkers were very nice to me, especially Daniel. Without asking, he gave me a list of different things I should do in New Zealand before it was time for me to leave. He would also help me find the best deal on things like a car rental, ferry ticket, or somewhere to stay for a night. This is only one example of the many people who have been so kind to me. After the work week, we went bowling, watched the new movie Sinners, and went out for Easter dinner. I even had the time to make sure I went to the gym each day of our long weekend. My favorite event from the weekend was visiting the night market and getting to try Samoan food for the first time! I made a local friend who gave me ideas of what the best stands were. I eventually decided that I wanted to try the Samoan soul food and got lamb, chicken, noodles, and potato salad. It was really good, and I’m glad it is something that I was able to experience before leaving New Zealand. Here are a couple of photos from the weekend.

Four months ago, I stepped off the plane feeling alone but eager for a new adventure. Now, I’m leaving with so many new friends and great memories to look back on that I will carry with me forever. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read the stories of my experience abroad!
What a great adventure we had abroad, Dom!
