This week at work was super exciting. I got to start out the week by sitting in on a meeting for a very big client. Then later on in the week I got to help with the move management portion of project management. I went onsight with one of the Project Managers and then helped ensure that all the clients’ things were transferred to the new office Colliers just completed. Then I was able to tour the site as well while the contractors put the finishing touches on the office. Then later that day I went with a different PM to another site that had just started construction that day. She taught me more about the technical aspects of the project. She shared with me some aspects of the soundproofing offices, compliance with singapore laws, and fire safety. It was interesting to see two different projects at opposite ends of the Fit-Out process
This weekend we took a trip to the Bintan Islands. We took the ferry from Singapore to Bintan. When we got there we all checked into our rooms, ate lunch and lounged by the pool. We spent the day relaxing by the pool and beach before going to an Indian restaurant at the resort. The next day we spent the day by the pool and by the beach as well. In the afternoon Lauren and I went to get massages before dinner. We went to an Indonesian restaurant for dinner. Where we shared a family style dinner filled with seafood, chicken, and vegetables. The next morning, We decided to go bowling in the morning, because the sun had gotten to us in the days before. After bowling, we made our way back to Singapore.
As Sunday was Easter, we decided to have an Easter dinner at our apartment. Ariana made a dinner of chicken, roasted broccoli and sweet potatoes, and a brown butter sage ravioli. After dinner we played cards until we decided it was too late and we needed to go to bed. It was my first major holiday without my family, so I was a little sad, but being with friends and enjoying good food significantly uplifted my spirit.
