Week 2: Reminder of home

This week has been a blast. I’ve always been hesitant about getting into the water or getting into a boat and I’ve decided that it’s finally time for me to conquer that fear. I went onto the ferry and the wind hitting my face has helped me realize that boats aren’t that bad. I think I’m going to conqueror my fear of water and finally learn how to swim. I’ll make sure to update you in the my progress next week.

This week has been full of me trying different things. I visited the Chinatown night market this week and tried a variety of foods. The flavors bring me back to home and reminds me of what my parents would make for me on a hot summer night when I wouldn’t have an appetite. If you ever go I would recommend you trying the lamb skewers. They have a good mix of fat and flavor and you just can’t stop eating. Heres a pic of me playing DDR with my roomate. I used to play this game all the time in the arcade at home.

Outside of that, this week has been quite tame. I am however excited to celebrate Chinese New year in a city with a high asian population. While the celebrations at bucknell have been alright, it isn’t the same as celebrating at home. Next well I’ll update you on my swimming journey and some pictures from Chinese New Year.
