I have officially settled into life in Sydney after spending two weeks here. I have had a great time experiencing the various sites that the city has to offer, and I am excited to embark on more journeys over the next few weeks.
Networking Session
On Tuesday afternoon, we had the opportunity to meet with Tony Massaro at his office in downtown Sydney. He talked to us about his career, and what led him to becoming a partner at his firm. We learned about his time in the military, and his travel experiences since graduating from college. Most importantly, we received valuable career and networking advice, all of which I can use in the future, especially with my internship in Singapore. As someone who wants to work internationally after college, I found his experiences and advice very interesting, and I was very impressed by his career path. Afterward, we had the opportunity to experience the Sydney Opera House Bar, which was located right outside the famous attraction. It was super cool to see the harbor at sunset while having the Opera House in the background. Additionally, we walked around the opera house area and were able to see the various shops located in the area.
Australia Day
Moving on, we were able to celebrate Australia Day on Sunday. We all went on a nighttime boat excursion, where we were able to witness the fireworks from the water. The views were incredible, and it was very cool to see the celebration for the first time in this capacity. The Opera House was prominently displayed on the boat tour, and we were able to see the entire harbor during the four hours we were on the boat.

Tamarama Beach
We also had the opportunity to check out Tamarama Beach this weekend and experience the waves and beach life that the area had to offer. It was incredibly fun and enjoyable to swim in the water as the waves were very rough, which made for a fun swimming experience. There was a very cool food stand located outside the beach. The stand had fresh acai bowls with various types of fruit that were local. Afterward, we got dinner at a nice Italian restaurant at Bondi Beach, and we were able to see the sunset right around the time we sat down. I am hoping to go to the sashimi restaurant that is located right in the same area, I have read many reviews saying this place is a must if you are in Sydney. I can’t wait for the experiences that I will have this week, as the weather is supposed to be very nice!
