Stella Chang: Australia Week 3

The weeks are flying by! It’s officially been 3 weeks in Sydney.

On Tuesday, Maddie, Aleska, and I took a trip to Queen Victoria Mall after our corporate finance class, and it’s the most gorgeous mall I’ve ever seen. The architecture is stunning, and there are so many stores. We only went to pick up a handbag and grab lunch, but we’re already planning a return trip to do some actual shopping. Then on Wednesday, Maddie and I decided to treat ourselves and get our nails done. I’m so happy with how they turned out, and with classes coming to an end, it was a great way to celebrate making it this far.

Saturday was definitely my favorite day of the week. All of my roommates and Jackson went to Paddington Market, where I may have gone a little overboard with my spending—but I have absolutely no regrets. I got another pearl bracelet, two necklaces, and a gorgeous painting of Bronte Beach (my favorite beach so far) from a lovely man named Alan. I adore markets, especially talking to the store owners and creators. I’m really excited to explore more local markets near us, and hopefully, we’ll make it to The Rocks Market next next weekend since we’re headed to Melbourne this weekend!

On Sunday, we made our way to Manly Beach after church and a delicious brunch of eggs benedict. The bus, then the ferry, and then another bus made for an hour and twenty-minute commute to the beach, but the view was totally worth it. The waves were big, and the sand was super soft compared to the beaches at Bondi and Bronte. It was officially the first beach day where I didn’t get burnt, so that’s a big win! I can’t wait to check out all the beaches near us and come up with a comprehensive ranking by the end, so stay tuned!
