Week 4: Melbourne (Fly Eagles Fly!)

I spent most of the weekday of Week 3 finishing my assignments for all of my classes as I knew that I was going to have fun in Melbourne for the weekend. It was nice summarizing all of the things I learned in Business Law into my assessment, and I really did enjoy learning more about the subject itself.

I did not do anything on Friday night in Melbourne as we came in pretty late to our hotel. The room I got was beautiful, even cooler than the one in Sydney even though I thought it was a little bit dirtier. The view was magnificent as we had a balcony that oversaw the rest of Melbourne.

We spent Saturday morning touring around Melbourne city district, even going through Chinatown and seeing the Melbourne Skyline past the bridge. Afterwards, we spent the night exploring Melbourne’s night life and activities.

On Sunday morning, after we had checked out of the hotel, we went to the Victoria’s market and bought some cool souvenirs and games for a relatively cheap price. I also had my first good order of Korean Chicken Wings. Afterwards, I went with Tomy and Dom to the Chinese Museum as we learned more about Chinese history and the life of the first Chinese immigrants to come to Australia. It was really nice learning that the history of most immigrants into foreign land is almost always the same as the others. Lastly, before we went back to the hotel for our flight, we went to a local sports bar and watched the UFC Sydney fight with some other Australians. It was nice experiencing the atmosphere there.

Monday was my happiest day even if I didn’t do anything as I got to experience watching the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the Superbowl at 10:30 a.m. Even if I am 16 hours ahead of my usual time zone, I will support my birds!
