This week we started a new block of classes. Now I have to wake up at 7 am everyday, but the classes I am taking are pretty interesting. First, I have international Finance, which is all about the flow of capital globally and the foreign exchange rate market. My other class is awesome. The professor has one of the craziest stories I have heard. She started off in as an investment banker, then she moved on to work for meta platforms and tiktok. After that she got her PhD to teach. She is the boy! The class is about contemporary politics, but she teaches it through food and the diaspora of culture.
My favorite part of the week was when we rented a car and drove down to the royal national park to go on a 3 hour hike. It was the most scenic hikes I’ve ever been on and my friend harry brought his digital camera to capture the beautiful nature. I got to see some wildlife as well, as I ran into a porcupine. The beaches there as well were so nice and the water was unbelievably refreshing. We spent the afternoon bodysurfing and swimming and it was like I was a kid again. Then we hiked back to the car and drove to Cronulla for dinner at a local pub that was playing the best live music. We drove back that day exhausted and passed out immediately.
Then Sunday, we had the tour of the Sydney Oprah House. This was a really cool experience. Im all about Oprah houses and national symphonies. I was raised in classical music playing piano and violin. My sister also works at the Kennedy Center in DC, and my grandpa was a conductor, so I was kind of nerding out during this tour. It sucked that we barely could take picture of the inside, but it was very interesting to learn the history of the great architecture.
