Week 6

This week we took a weekend trip to the hunter valley region near Newcastle and got to experience the local wineries. It was a great experience and we got to try different wines and learn about the area and the history of wine making in Australia. We went to 3 different wineries over the course of 2 days. The first winery was a very modern winery with a connected restaurant area. We had a great guide Henry who was very knowledgeable and provided us with a great experience. The second winery was much more boutique and smaller scale but offered a great view of the area and again was a fantastic experience. After attending the first two wineries we settled in for the night and the following morning we headed to lunch where we had Thai food which was a first for me and I really enjoyed it. After the Thai lunch we departed for the final winery which I think would have been a great spot for a wedding/party. The winery was elegant and had a great view of the mountains all around the faculty. It was the first time I had ever engaged in a wine tasting experience and I really enjoyed it. I appreciate the Bucknell alumni that sponsored the trip. It was a great way to see another area of the country and try something new. I definitely will look to do something similar in the future. Looking forward to another great week in sunny Sydney
