This week has been a roller coaster. I woke up one day to sip some water and felt a pain in my throat. Being sick while in Australia is awful and I am very grateful that my mom snuck a ziplock bag with 3 sleeves of dayquil and nyquil. The only way to get through a bad cold is through rest and LOTS of soup. I took some time to rest and had alot of soup. Me being sick was the perfect excuse to go to my local Vietnamese restaurant and eat some Pho. This week I tried the beef and pork pho and I got a side of wontons. After I finished the soup, i immediately felt better and fell asleep from a food coma. I woke up sweating and feeling significantly better. Beef bone broth does wonders for the body and Im gonna miss having such easy access to Pho. I got to dump in a TON of bean sprouts and different herbs and this is a very easy way to get in some veggies into my diet.

I got the oppurtunity to visit the University of Sydney campus for my contemporary politics class. The university of sydney is Australia’s first university and the infrastructure is amazing. It kinda looks like buildings that you would see in harry potter and I ended up spending 30 minutes just walking around campus and looking at the different buildings. There were a mix of modern looking buildings and antique buildings.

After I recovered from my sudden illness, I felt ready to test myself and go see the blue mountains with ym own eyes. I was originally suppose to go with a group of friends but they ended up cancelling last second. I ended up going with Dom and Dylan and we made the treacherous journey of going to the blue mountains. We left at about 9:30 AM and ended up going on a 3 hour train ride with different detours to finally get to the Three Sisters point. Where I (almost) slipped on the stairs multiple times. But I was not going to let some measly stairs stop me from hiking and exploring the area. We stumbled across this beautiful waterfall and took a quick break. The hardest part was indeed going back up the mountain and not the trip down. But once I finished the hike, I was hit with a sense of euphoria and sense of accomplishment. I proceeded to fall asleep on the train ride back and almost miss the train back to central… But we made it in the end and the weekend was awesome.
