It’s wild that I have already spent 8 weeks in Sydney. It’s been fun in Sydney, but I am excited to go to Cairns and Singapore. I spent my last week in Sydney working on papers and finishing my courses. I also made sure to go to my favorite food spots before I left for good. I got more spicy Chinese noodles and some ramen. I was supposed to attend the Drake concert on Friday, but unfortunately, he canceled the show. With this change of plans on our last day in Sydney, Jonah and I decided to see the sunset at Milk Beach again. It was a beautiful way to end our time in Sydney.

Now it’s spring break time! We arrived in Cairns early Saturday morning, and it’s a super tropical spot. As soon as we landed, there were volcanos covered in green surrounding the area. I was excited to explore the area more. Our room’s AC wasn’t working when we got to our accommodation. In the 95-degree weather, we were sweating. Luckily, we could change rooms, and I even got a king-sized bed.

Getting off the plane in Cairns
On Sunday, we went out to the Great Barrier Reef to snorkel. I was super excited to see this wonderful place in person. We could pay extra to scuba dive; of course, I had to do that. It was a 90-minute ride out, and we visited three spots. I snorkeled on the first spot, but seeing all the colorful coral and fish was excellent. The next spot was my first scuba diving; I was nervous and excited. Being fully underwater was weird, but scuba diving was a much more incredible experience. On the third trip, I took my underwater camera for some great footage. I saw a shark, a stingray, and many more cool things. After that, we headed back to Cairns. That was one of my favorite days of the whole trip!

Shots from the Reef
On Monday, we took a day trip to see different spots in the rainforest. Our first stop was a calm lake where I climbed on top of the tree in the middle and jumped off. I also did the rope swing into the water, which was fun. Our next stop was an incredible waterfall, where we had lunch. Aboriginal Australians used this waterfall to heal wounds, but ironically, I got a cut on my foot going in. The next stop after that was another waterfall, but the best one. We were able to go behind the waterfall and swim under it. After that, we saw a giant fig tree wrapped around another tree, and then we tried to see tree kangaroos, but there were none there.
