Week 2 in Singapore, Bali Trip

I wrapped up my second week of my internship at Qapita this past week, and I gained much more experience and knowledge from my coworkers. This week assignments ramped up, and I started getting more work than in my first week, which was good as I felt more involved. Furthermore, after a long week at work, John, Matt, and I traveled to Bali on Friday night for the weekend. John and I stayed at a resort in Kuta, which is about 20 minutes north of the airport. Friday night we got in relatively late, so we pretty much went to bed shortly after arrival.

Saturday in Bali

Saturday in Bali was different than what I had planned for, but was still very fun and entertaining. There was a holiday occurring that day called Nyepi, and effectively the entire island was shut down. All tourists were instructed to stay in the resorts, and not leave. Even the beach was restricted, so we were limited to the pool and our room. However, the resort still had activities planned for the majority of the day, creating ways for guests to enjoy their vacation in the resort. When Sunday rolled around, we were still able to experience everything we had planned.

Sunday in Bali: Beach Clubs

Sunday morning, we got a traditional Bali massage at a highly rated spa in Seminyak, which is close to Kuta. It was very relaxing, but was very long and would probably do a shorter version if I did one again. After the spa, we headed down to Uluwatu to go to Sundays Beach Club, which had incredible views of the beach and surrounding cliffs. I had a miso salmon bowl there, which contained some of the best salmon I had ever tasted. After that, we headed over to Rock Bar to watch the sunset and grab dinner, which is one of the highest rated beach clubs on the island. The restaurant was incredible, but unfortunately it was very cloudy and there was not much of a sunset. I would say that the beach clubs in Bali are the best part of the island, the food at these places is significantly better than anywhere else on the island, and the views are insane. If I ever go back to Bali, I will definitely spend a lot more time at the beach clubs than other places.

All in all, our trip to Bali was incredible, and I am looking forward to spending a full week in Singapore, continuing to explore the city.
