This week I want to talk about my amazing job at SkyVenture Capital. Throuhgt my time in Australia I waas always thinking about my job placement as I really hoped my office would have a great culture. Sky Venture capital is a smaller company that is currently working to raise funds for one their clients. From the first day of work all the interns went to a breakfast with the rest of the team where we got to know everyone and not only learn about the company but also the financial standing of singapore as a whole. One of the most interesting factss I remember was learning that cars are extremely expensive becasue along wiht buying the car you also need to purchase a certificate of entitlement which can be in the quite often in the $100,000 range.

Last week all the interns were able to take a trip to the CEO Marys home in Malaysia. While there we were able to work collaborativly on assignments. It was also great to get to know everyone else on the team and get closer with the other inters ( and my favorite part Mayr’s two dogs).

I still tried to keep to my routine and go to the gym and one night I was able to go with another intern Paul while the other night I went with my bosses Evelyn and Richard. Our CEO also loves to cooks and made so many different dishes for us to try like cold noodles and stir fry noodles with dumplings.

Learning about Marys life was fascinating she worked on wall street for two years before returning to work in singapore. She now owns SkyVenture Capital and had side endeavors like a dog shelter in Thailand that she devotes her free time to. We also went into the town to explore my favorite part was going to a durian market. Our boss sat us down picked her fruit for the workers to wrap. While that was occuring we were able to sit and try the fruit.

Although I wasnot the biggest fan it was so much fun to try something I have never even thoguht of before. I cannot wait to continue the rest of our time in Singapore in my internship and continue to get to know the team better. I can already tell Ill be sad to leave.
