This week, I wrapped up some very important tasks at work. I moved forward with my progress on a newsletter that will be featured in company publications next week, which is very exciting. I am very proud of my work for this assignment, and hope that readers will appreciate my efforts. Given the achievements I reached during the week, it was super nice to have a long weekend.
Bintan Island
On Friday, we all headed down to Bintan Island for the weekend. I was not aware of how beautiful and isolated the beaches were on this island. The resort had a lot to offer, and the whole weekend was very relaxing. Friday night, we ate dinner at the Indian restaurant at the resort, and the food was incredible. I had not ordered much Indian since being abroad, and the butter chicken and rice were exceptional. It is safe to say that I will be getting more Indian food before I leave Asia. On Saturday, I spent the entire morning and early afternoon napping on a hammock by the beach, which is exactly what I do every time I have a beach vacation. Afterwards, I got some Indonesian food from the poolside restaurant, and it was incredible. The food at the resort was amazing, I was very impressed. I then spent more time in the hammocks before dinner, and then we ate at the seafood restaurant which had an incredible view of the water. We ended the night by playing cards after we left the restaurant.
On Sunday, we went bowling for half an hour before we headed out to travel back to Singapore. The boat ride there and back was very easy and did not take long. All in all, the weekend was very relaxing, and I had a great time. This was also a great time to see everyone from Bucknell again, as given our different schedules, it is difficult to see everyone. I am excited for the week to come, and am ready to finish off the last few weeks strong.
