Week 9 Blog – Cairns pt. 2 / Singapore Arrival

This week was filled with much travel and new experiences. Firstly, our second half of the spring break trip to Cairns commenced, where we travelled across all of Cairns, having an activity each day. Some of these highlights included scuba diving (which I touched on in my previous blog), a day trip to Fitzroy Island, a day trip to Crocodile Park, and a self-planned skydiving excursion. The trip to Fitzroy Island was one of the best experiences I’ve had, and was one of the closest times I have experienced “Paradise.” Upon our arrival, we were met with a hit of […]

Week 8 Blog – Cairns pt. 1

This week, a large majority of the GAV program traveled up to Cairns for spring break. Upon arrival, we were all hit with a heat and humidity wave, as Cairns is nearly 10 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than Sydney. Despite my efforts of surviving the extreme heat and humidity here, these past three days have been nothing short of amazing. Firstly, on our first full day, which was this past Sunday, many of the GAV students spent the day on a boat that travelled to the Great Barrier Reef, about 1:20 hours off the harbor of Cairns. Many of us on […]

Week 7 Blog – Curly Lewis and Doyles

This week was as busy as my previous weeks in Sydney. Not only was it two of my close friends’ birthday this week, which entailed much celebration and travel throughout Sydney, attending a Solute concert as well as taking the public ferry up to Hampton’s Bay, but this week was also demanding in academia and work, having many calls for the GAV internship placement as well as a handful of assignments for my International Finance and Contemporary Politics classes. Despite this, this past week was one of the most fun weeks I’ve not only had in Sydney, but of all […]

Week 6 Blog – Hunter Valley

This past weekend, all Bucknellians in the Management in Asia Pacific program ventured out to Hunter Valley, a focal point in Australian and global wine and vineyards. Located roughly two hours north of Sydney, we spent the weekend attending three wineries across our two days trip, tasting a vast array of whites, sparkling, rosés and reds all while taking in the beautiful and rural sceneries that surrounded us. Alongside this, we also spent the night in Newcastle, a coastal city with amazing views of the water as well as some of the most beautiful oceanside pools I have seen in […]

Week 5 Blog – Blue Mountains and Opera House

This week was an extremely busy week for me. Firstly, on Tuesday, my parents flew in for a 5-day visit, expecting to see what Sydney is known for, and also what it is not necessarily known for. This past week, I took my parents out to Manly beach for a day, did the Coogee to Bondi walk, and went all around Sydney for dinners, such as the Iceberg, which is adjacent to Bondi Beach, the Helm, which is alongside Darling Harbour, and Sean’s Panorama, which is also right alongside Bondi Beach. Yet, the two most unforgettable moments I had this […]

Week 4 Blog – Melbourne

This past weekend, all Bucknell students in the Asia Pacific program took a trip out to Melbourne as part of our program’s itinerary. Landing late Friday night, we had all of Saturday and Sunday, as our flight on Sunday was also at night, to explore the city and do as we please. A group of buddies and I explored around the city on Saturday through a program-sponsored tour, and continued to travel around the city afterwards, hopping into many stores, restaurants and alleyways. On Sunday, given that we had most of the day to explore, the same group of buddies […]
