Living the Island live 🏖️🌊

Work started off a little more hectic than usual. One of our Singaporean intern friends is heading off this week, so a lot of tasks had to be passed on to me and Lauren. It’s been a bit of a handover marathon, but we’re managing! One of the highlights of my work week was learning how to file Financial Statements (FS) for submission to the Singaporean government. It’s part of the audit and compliance process, and there’s a special system we need to install in Excel in order to validate and upload the documents directly to ACRA (the local authority). […]

🥊 A Ringside Invitation I Didn’t See Coming

This past week has been an absolute whirlwind—and honestly, I’ve never felt more excited (and slightly overwhelmed) in the best way possible. Work has been busier than ever, but also weirdly exciting. I recently got pulled into a long-term project my company’s been working on—and it’s about this Australian company called Amaroo. They’re planning to create their own digital currency (like Bitcoin), and the team trusted me to write the concept paper. When I first heard it, I was like, “Wait, what?” because I literally knew nothing about crypto, blockchain, or any of that techy stuff. I won’t lie—I was […]

Food, Food and Work🏢🍜🍗

Just like the title said, this week has been my ultimate foodie week! Even though work has been busier than ever, I made sure to explore Singapore’s vibrant food culture every day. After work, I’d meet up with friends to try out new spots, and one of our highlights was a visit to HiNoodle in Somerset. I had their handmade noodles in a spicy pickled fish soup, and it exceeded all my expectations with its rich, tangy flavor. The next stop was the famous Hey Tea, where I enjoyed a perfectly balanced mango grapefruit tea that was refreshingly flavorful and […]

Flowers and Culture in the Lion City 🌸🦁🏙️

This week has been such a happy and fulfilling one for me! I finally resumed my internship program and reunited with my friends who had arrived in Singapore earlier. While waiting for them to finish work, I had lunch at Wisma Atria’s food court, and it was amazing. I ordered noodles with fish dumplings and pork, and the moment I tasted the broth, I was instantly hit with nostalgia. It reminded me of the times I visited Singapore with my family. I also tried the famous Singapore coffee and ordered it just like the locals: “Can I have one Kopi […]

Week 8: Spring Break and Nature 🏔️

This week, as our last outdoor adventure in Sydney, my friends and I took a trip to the Blue Mountains for a quick hiking excursion. The journey took about three hours by bus and train, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the scenic views along the way. One of the highlights was visiting the famous Three Sisters, a sacred site for the Aboriginal people, believed to have been the location of important cultural rituals. Since we went on a weekday, the area wasn’t too crowded, allowing us to take great photos of the stunning landscapes. From there, we followed […]

Week 7: Sydney Through a New Lens 🎞️🌈

This week, I experienced Sydney from a completely new perspective—one shaped by nature, culture, and hidden gems around the city. With midterms officially done, I finally had more free time to explore with my friends! As usual, I stuck to my routine of midnight walks to the beach, and this time, I finally made it to Coogee Beach! The reason I say “finally” is because my friends and I always got sidetracked by smaller beaches along the way and never ended up reaching Coogee. But this time, we made it, and I couldn’t believe how peaceful and serene it was. […]
