Week 14: Bintan

Last week, we got the chance to go to Bintan, one of the islands in Indonesia. It was a very beautiful island, with very similar heat to Singapore but without the extreme humidity. The resort itself was even more astonishing, as it felt like it was a separate area for all the guests. Only problem I had with my weekend was that I had no service there, which I forgot to tell my mom about as she called me 5 times over the weekend. Friday was just a relaxing day as I went out with Tomy and Matt to the […]

Week 13: British people, KBBQ, and Slingshots

I keep forgetting how cheap it is to get food from restaurants rather than cooking, which I am finding very ironic. In America, it is more expensive to order food or to eat at restaurants vs. making your own food, but I always seemed to order food more when I am at Bucknell or even at home. Yet since I have been here, I have been cooking more and more compared to when I am in America. Hopefully, I keep this habit when I go back but I need to keep trying these unique dishes for while I am still […]

Week 12: Minecraft and Hiking

Last week, I was trying to reevaluate how I spend my time after work and I was getting to a good understanding of how much time I have left after I leave my job. Well my job moved me to a different client and now I am out of the hotel from at least 7am to 7pm. So it has been reevaluating my reevaluation. I did not think I was going to go watch it but being on Tiktok made me really want to see the Minecraft movie. I have been playing minecraft since I was at least 10 years […]

Week 11: Work and Cats

This week was not as eventful as I wanted it to be as work has taken up a good portion of my time. SInce being here, I wanted to get used to working a regular corporate job and valuing the time I had leftover in the day. I usually get off work at around 5:30 to 6pm and it takes me around a half an hour to get back to the hotel, so most of my day is spent in the office. It usually takes me an hour to eat, cook and cleanup so now I am left very little […]

Week 10: Working in Accounting in Singapore

This week has been very interesting as it represents my first full week in Singapore and of my new internship here. I plan on graduating as an accountant, and I am currently on track to become an auditor for a firm after graduation, so I wanted to get a headstart on figuring out what auditing was and what auditor do for work. I landed an internship at CLA Global TS, an accounting firm that helps businesses externally with their goals and problems. I got the job their as an external auditor, helping clients with managing their documents and getting them […]

Week 9: Last of Cairns and the Beginning of Singapore

I spent last week up until Saturday in Cairns doing various activities. On Tuesday, we went to a crocodile farm where we got to see crocodiles in a man made habitat for them and see how they would operate in the wild. We also saw other animals and exhibits such as the snake exhibit and the kangaroo/wallaby area. But the crocodiles were one of the few things left in Australia I needed to see before I left. On Wednesday, we went to a separate island to travel around and explore. I learned that I still get sea sick but only […]
