Week 8: End of Classes and Cairns

This week was the last week of classes and with it came all the work needed to finish and pass these classes. I had 3 essays to work on for this week, and somehow, I was able to finish all of them by Friday evening. My classes were a nice experience and it was nice to learn about the surrounding countries and the history and politics around them. Friday was our last day of staying in Sydney so I knew I was going to have to say goodbye to some of the friends I made in the GAV program. It […]

Week 7: Blue Mountains

This week has been relatively relaxing as most of the work that I must work on is due this following week, so I had nothing to truly prepare for with my classes. However, I did dedicate this week to having fun with my friends as I knew I would be spending the last week doing all of the essays and homework due that week. I went out to the nightlife on Wednesday and Thursday. It was nice seeing how vibrant Sydney can be during those hours. I spent Friday inside however because I knew that I was going to need […]

Week 6: Wine Tasting

Last week, I worked on a presentation for my contemporary politics class about the origin and cultural significance of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). I worked on this presentation with Deborah and Estrella as we all loved eating KFC in the different areas we have been in. We presented our findings on Thursday and it was nice actually learning about the origins of food that we have so much love for. For the weekend, GAV took the Bucknell students to Hunter Valley in order to go wine tasting. Hunter Valley has a rich history of being a land and community of […]

Week 5: New Set of Classes

For this week, everyone is starting their new set of classes. For me, I am going to be learning about contemporary politics in Asia for one and about Australian life and culture for another. These classes have been interesting so far as I have already started working on two presentations for these classes, but I would not say that I do not like these classes. For my contemporary politics class, it has been nice learning about the complex history of the Asian pacific countries and their politics. Currently I am making a presentation with 2 of my classmates on the […]

Week 4: Melbourne (Fly Eagles Fly!)

I spent most of the weekday of Week 3 finishing my assignments for all of my classes as I knew that I was going to have fun in Melbourne for the weekend. It was nice summarizing all of the things I learned in Business Law into my assessment, and I really did enjoy learning more about the subject itself. I did not do anything on Friday night in Melbourne as we came in pretty late to our hotel. The room I got was beautiful, even cooler than the one in Sydney even though I thought it was a little bit […]

Week 3:

This week, I am somehow still having new experiences to share! Went back to Chinatown this friday and tested out some honey chicken and it was amazing. It reminded me of the American Chinese General Tso’s Chicken as it had a somewhat sweet taste to it. Went to a Japanese club in Chinatown Friday night with some Bucknell friends and became the loud ignorant American stereotype for the night as people were very welcoming to us. We all danced and ate some Hungry Jacks (Australia’s Burger Kind) afterwards. I went back to Bondi Beach on Saturday with some of my […]
