Byron Bay and a Birthday

In another spectacular week of life in Australia, this one started with a bang. Monday, February 24th, 2025 was the day I turned 21 years old and what a day it was. It started as usual, with class at 8 am (booooo) and to add a little salt in that wound I had a huge quiz in International Finance (double booooo). Yet, after that I hoped on the train popped in my AirPods and blasted my favorite songs on the train ride home. When I got back to the apartment I was greeted with a big “Happy Birthday you BEAST” […]

Wine and Sun

This week marks the 6th week that I have been in Australia, and it did not disappoint. I started my week off with a presentation about Ramen in my contemporary politics class. As always I knocked it out of the park. After class, Trev and I went to get a huge bowl of Ramen to celebrate. It was awesome! The rest of the week was pretty chill until we got to the weekend. The weekend we had a planned visit to the Hunter Valley region of NSW, which is one of the many wine regions in Australia. Shout out the […]

Hike of a Lifetime

This week we started a new block of classes. Now I have to wake up at 7 am everyday, but the classes I am taking are pretty interesting. First, I have international Finance, which is all about the flow of capital globally and the foreign exchange rate market. My other class is awesome. The professor has one of the craziest stories I have heard. She started off in as an investment banker, then she moved on to work for meta platforms and tiktok. After that she got her PhD to teach. She is the boy! The class is about contemporary […]

Rollercoaster of a Week

This week may have the most hectic week of my life. There were too many ups and downs to count. Coming into the week I knew it was not going to be easy. I had a final paper and a final exam and in this Australian weather it is incredibly hard to get any type of work done or even lock in. So the week already started with a bit of stress and anxiety. I also had to give a class presentation in financial decision modeling, which was not bad but still all the work piled up. So Wednesday rolls […]

Aussi, Aussi Aussi

This week started off with a bang. Monday was Australia Day and class was on zoom. It was really nice, but unfortunately Ive experienced the worst weather so far on my journey. Yet, even the bad weather is nicer than whatever is back home. This week was full of learning moments in and out of the class so here is a compilation. This week I also learned a lot about myself. I journey around doing things just by myself and it was awesome. I went and had lunch at a cafe outdoor in Bondi and people watched while listing to […]

Best Week of my Life

I can’t even describe how awesome this week has been. The week ramped up day by day. We started with classes as usual at 12 pm everyday, but then some of our friends had a bright idea to make a new tradition called “Taco Tuesdays”. There I had the best beef tacos (I ate 7) and some good refreshments. Dinner was great and I met some new and old friends, but it was the start to something great. We ended the night with a nice ice cream at “Maccas” (McDonalds) Wednesday Trev’s parents came to town and this is where […]
