School’s Out

My week in Cairns was packed with adventure, cultural learning, and breathtaking natural experiences. I really needed this trip to celebrate the end of classes and I’m glad that I was able to spend it with friends. Monday, our group went on a rainforest tour, exploring many different water site, each location offering something unique and memorable. The first stop of my water day was an Aboriginal reservoir, where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich culture and history of the indigenous people of Australia. This experience was both educational and enlightening, as I learned about the […]

Under Down Under

This week has been a real roller coaster. It’s been a mix of being sad for leaving this great city behind as well as being excited for the new adventures to come. I’ve spent almost every day doing my lasts with all my friends as I won’t be seeing everyone again after spring break. Since this week was going to be a final goodbye for some people, we decided to hold a small “family day” as a closing event to celebrate all the time we’ve spent together over the course of the term. We went to go watch a movie […]

Sunshine and Rainbows🌈

This past weekend we didn’t have any scheduled group excursion. However, I didn’t let it go to waste and with small group of friends we continued exploring and crossing things off our wish lists. We had everything scheduled by time blocks which definitely helped keep us on track with all the activities we wanted to do. Saturday 5:00 am – 9:00am – Sunrise @ Manly Beach I don’t necessarily consider myself a morning person because I hate waking up early. But for a trip to the beach, I will always make an exception. My day started at 5am as two […]

Enjoying the Bubbles

This weekend our Bucknell group traveled up to Hunter’s Valley for a weekend of Wine tasting which was all thanks to a very generous alumni. Our trip started very early Saturday morning and unfortunately for me, I couldn’t block out the noise and sleep during the beginning of the ride. Earlier this week, I lost one earbud and haven’t had the opportunity to replace them, so I’ve been surviving with only one. However, despite this small hiccup, I made the most of my time by studying for an exam for Monday. At noon, we stopped in this small resting area […]

Exploring the Arts🎨🎶🎭

This week was heavily focused on feeding my love for art. At the start of the week, I had the opportunity to see my favorite R&B artist, Keshi. I originally didn’t have the intentions to attend a concert here in Australia but after finding out 2 days before the concert, that he was playing, I rushed to secure a ticket. I went with some non-Bucknell friends, and it was a great opportunity to bond with people outside of my close circle over shared interests. We enjoyed the show so much that we are thinking of possibly going to another one […]

Weekend in Melbourne

Spending the weekend in Melbourne was an unforgettable experience. We received a historic tour which provided a fascinating glimpse into Melbourne’s past, offering insights into its colonial foundations and architectural heritage. Walking through the city with a guide, I could almost imagine what life was like in earlier decades, seeing how modern Melbourne still holds onto its roots. One of the most striking parts of the trip was exploring the famous graffiti alleys. Melbourne’s street art scene is very bold and expressive. Every space of the wall was filled with different realistic images, political messages, and artistic flair. It was […]
