It’s crazy how it’s already been 14 weeks abroad, I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone by. This week was another great one, I decided to explore a little more of Singapore because I only have a couple weeks left here. On Wednesday, Bucknell hosted a Singapore alumni event. This was a great opportunity to network with Bucknellians who now work in Singapore. I talked to most of the alumnis and asked everyone why they chose to move to Singapore. I was curious to know everyone’s story of how they ended up here and it was nice to hear their […]
Another week has passed in Singapore, and not much has changed. I have been working on creating dashboards for the CFO and CEO for financial analysis. I have been onboarding all the data onto the new platform, Datarails, and am now creating tools for economic analysis. It is interesting because this is precisely what I learned in my Accounting Analytics and Data Visualization classes. I have been doing a lot of data mapping and validation to accounting analytics. Now, I am creating many visual tools like bar charts, line charts, etc., which apply to my Data Visualization course. This is […]
Another week has passed in Singapore; this is the first weekend I haven’t traveled. The week in Singapore was normal, I had a busy week because we had to complete the first phase of a project to onboard a new FP&A software. With this comes a lot of data validation and data mapping. It’s a very tedious process that takes a lot of work, but learning the intricacies of financial models and how to manipulate them is very interesting. I look forward to learning more. Dinner with team This week, my boss introduced me to this coffee place near work, […]
Another week in Singapore has passed! This week, I have been preparing for a busy work week. The team is working on onboarding a new software, and I have been very involved. We are looking to onboard it by the end of next week, so there has been a lot of work going into data validation. It’s been fun getting to know my coworkers and working with them; they try to give me a lot of responsibility, which I appreciate. I also went to the giant mall next to our hotel for the first time, it took me two weeks […]
It’s been my first week in Singapore, and it’s been nice. I’ve been enjoying my time working as an FP&A intern at Circles. The company has been very welcoming to me and the other interns. One thing I like about Circles is their commitment to getting me involved. On the first day, I was already working on validating financial data to upload to FP&A software. My manager is also very laid back, which is different from the expectations of a Singaporean manager. I look forward to getting more hands-on with actual financial analysis. Circles office Jonah and I went to […]
