Finding Favorites

From an airplane window, the weaving neighborhood streets resemble the intricate pathways of a brain. The winding, branching routes that mirror the complex network of neural connections remind me of different systems, as big as the Earth and as small as a neuron in a brain. From the high balcony of the apartment, I can see the same two tiny televisions in the same two houses down below every night, glowing like distant beacons, always on until past midnight. Week 2: Independence

You reading this sentence could be proof that free will exists. But how much of life is free will, and how much is determinism, clouded by the illusion of free-will? Week 1: Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary

This week, our academic adventure in Australia began as we started our classes, undertook a walking tour to become familiar with the city, and went on a day trip to the Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary, where we have not only become accustomed to the local people in the area, but also the local animals. Australia is nothing if not a place where the kangas and roos of the world can spend their time hopping about, especially in the 60 acres of land that the walkabout wildlife sanctuary offers.
