Week 6 Time in Hunter valley

This week has been a rollercoaster. My international finance class assigned both a quiz and an assignment so I did not have as much free time as I would have liked to. But during the weekend I was able to take some time off and enjoy the school trip. On our bus ride to the winery, we came across this little antique shop that had an assortment of items. I saw some vintage records, coffins, crystals, and a bunch of handcrafted goods. The food in the area could have been a little bit better but I was able to make […]

Week 5 -New classes

This week has been very exciting. I am starting my international finance class and my politics class. Both of which have been very interesting and I am enjoying the change in pace. I was assigned a presentation that is due in week 6 which is kind of a drag. But It is a presentation about food and I ended up choosing Pho for my topic. Exploring Melbourne

This week I got to explore Melbourne, and it was filled with excitement. While the hotel was not as great as the Meriton, it was still an amazing experience. We saw some Victorian style architecture, and it was interesting to see the unique patterns that came with it. Seeing the Victorian style housing in a city was interesting. Being […]

Celebrating Chinese New Year in Sydney

This week, I got the opportunity to celebrate Chinese New Year in Sydney, and it was surreal. I visited Chinatown, and the entire place was decked out with decorations and lots of red everywhere. It felt just like my grandparents’ neighborhood during the festive season in Beijing. There were red lanterns hanging all over, crowds of people wearing red, and even this really cool balloon shaped like a Chinese lion from the lion dance. Since it’s that time of year, I had to eat a metric ton of noodles. I think I ate noodles at least five times this week. […]

Week 2: Reminder of home

This week has been a blast. I’ve always been hesitant about getting into the water or getting into a boat and I’ve decided that it’s finally time for me to conquer that fear. I went onto the ferry and the wind hitting my face has helped me realize that boats aren’t that bad. I think I’m going to conqueror my fear of water and finally learn how to swim. I’ll make sure to update you in the my progress next week.  This week has been full of me trying different things. I visited the Chinatown night market this week and […]
