After arriving at the Circular Quay last Saturday, my roommates and I took a ferry ride to the Manly Wharf which quickly became the highlight of my week in Sydney. The city has been breathtaking so far, but this ferry ride in particular was unforgettable. As we sailed through Sydney harbour, I couldn’t take my eyes off the iconic Sydney Opera House with the Harbour Bridge in the background.
When we reached Manly Wharf, we grabbed some quick bites before heading to Manly Beach. The beach was alive with energy–families playing, surfers catching waves, and people enjoying the perfect sunny weather. We joined the crowd and soaked in the sun for a while. After a couple of hours of tanning, we joined a group of guys playing soccer and beach volleyball, making this day even more enjoyable and exciting. When we were done soaking up the sun, we decided to explore the nearby Manly Corso on the way back to the wharf. It was filled with shops, cafés, and street performers. The atmosphere was lively, with music playing in the background and tourists mingling with locals.
On the ferry ride back, the sunset painted the sky with soft orange and pink, giving us a completely different look at the Opera House. We stopped at a gelato place on the way back home which was a perfect ending to a day that felt like a mix of relaxation, exploration, and appreciation for the beauty of Sydney.
