This week has been quite busy, as it was the last week of classes. I had to write two essays and take a final exam for my international finance class. I definitely spent too much time studying international finance, and the exam was way too easy. I rewarded myself with a loaf of curry bread near UTS after I finished my exam. The most stressful part of this week was packing up and getting ready to leave Sydney. I will miss reliable transportation, cheap food, and the beaches nearby.

The plane ride to Cairns didn’t take too long, and I was able to doze off and sleep a bit. The first thing that hit me was the heat wave and the humidity. I was walking the hotel area for a couple of minutes, and beads of sweat were forming on me. The water cooled me off and helped a little bit, but idk how long I’ll be able to last in this weather. Singapore is also hot and humid. So this week will help me get acclimated to the hot and humid weather. The city feels more like Lewisburg than it does in Bondi. The mountains look amazing and I want to try and hike the area before leaving.

So far this week, we went to the coral reef and the view was amazing. I wasn’t able to get any cool pictures, but I was able to see the different aquatic life in the area and all the vibrant colors. I went to a Thai restaurant after with Zach and Jackson and ordered a big bowl of beef noodles. It had some beef, meatballs, beef tendon, a spiced broth, and a bunch of noodles. The food here wasn’t as expensive as I thought it’d be. I will continue to eat well this week.

This Monday we went on a rainforest walk and had a bunch of opportunities to get into the water. We saw the lake of healing, which the aboriginal people believed to have healing properties. As they would go to the stream and wash their wounds after battles, and wounds. It was interesting to learn more about the area and explore the more tropical part of Australia. I was kinda bummed that i wasnt able to see any platypus for tree kangaroos But I was able to see a bunch of turtles.
