Week 11 in Singapore – John Rodgers

Another week has passed in Singapore; this is the first weekend I haven’t traveled. The week in Singapore was normal, I had a busy week because we had to complete the first phase of a project to onboard a new FP&A software. With this comes a lot of data validation and data mapping. It’s a very tedious process that takes a lot of work, but learning the intricacies of financial models and how to manipulate them is very interesting. I look forward to learning more.

Dinner with team

This week, my boss introduced me to this coffee place near work, Kopifellas. I was initially skeptical because I didn’t know what to order, but I ordered an iced Kopi. It was some of the best coffee I have had in a while! Singapore has a very special coffee menu that can be customized to suit your needs. I ordered an iced coffee with condensed milk, and they have a terrific way of making it. They pour the coffee up high and then pour it over ice, and it’s good. I have already been 8 times this week, and they know my order.

This weekend was my first time staying in Singapore, and I and some roommates went to a comedy show at a local brewery. Given that we are in Singapore, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the comedians, but I came in with an open mind. The venue was small and intimate, and 12 different comedians came up to perform. There were comedians from all over the world, so they all had different humor. It was a unique experience, and I am glad that I went.

Last night, I went to watch the Minecraft movie with all my roommates. It was a spontaneous decision to go, but it was a good time. The theater was not as crowded as I had anticipated, but the theater had a McDonalds inside it, which was a first for me. The movie was funny, and we all had a great time.
