Week 12

Week 12 was a great week.  This week we enjoyed more of Singapore’s sights and experiences. We went to the Marina Bay Sands hotel to a famous rooftop bar.  The place we went to is a bar/club called Ce La Vi, and happens to be featured in the last scene of Crazy Rich Asians.  The bar itself was incredible with a great dance floor and fantastic views.  The building, Marina Bay Sands, consists of three towers connected by a huge roof which is styled after a boat.  Also on this “boat” is a huge infinity pool which is open to […]

Week 12 Singapore

A Week in Singapore: Diving into Fintech, Policy, and Global Trade This past week has been fascinating as I have been working on financial research, policy analysis, and international business strategy. As I learn more about the financial sector and regulatory policy, I become more interested and more prepared for my internship at the Federal Reserve this summer. Here’s a glimpse into what I’ve been working on in Singapore. Global Fintech Research Project I kicked off the week by diving into a massive fintech market study. I analyzed over 300 companies across various continents, focusing on valuation strategies and expansion […]

Week 3 in Singapore – Jonah Pachman

This past week, we spent the week in Singapore for the first time since we arrived. My assignments and tasks at work ramped up, and I definitely received more impactful and important work than I had in the previous two weeks. The hours may be long, but I feel like I am starting to learn much more from the team at Qapita, and I am starting to make more of an impact in the office. Additionally, I had some very good lunches at work this week, I went to several cafes and other hawker centers around the city that offered […]

Week 12 Blog – Another Singapore Week

This week was filled with even more exploration of Singapore. Firstly, Saturday marked my 21st birthday, which caused some great local celebration. On Friday night, a bunch of buddies and I returned back to the Newton Hawker Centre, my all-time favorite food market, to dig into some Michelin starred chicken wings as well as some dumplings. The food, yet again, hit the spot. To celebrate my birthday, a bunch of buddies and I went to the Marina Bay Sands building, where there is a beautiful restaurant and bar on the roof, or the boat, of the building. Alongside the restaurant […]

Stella Chang: Singapore Week 4

This past week was a much-needed reset week, so there’s not a ton to report. On Wednesday, I got assigned a new project at work, which was a welcome change after three weeks of repetitive tasks. The new work is more research-based and involves Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, which has been super interesting so far as I’m actively involved in a current deal. Fast forward to Thursday, Ariana and I went to the highly anticipated Gracie Abrams concert, which was supposed to be “the best night of our lives.” It was such a different experience compared to U.S. concerts as […]
