Week 9 – Spring Break in Cairns and Returning to Sydney

This past week we had the rest of our Spring Break trip to Cairns and it was filled with some awesome and unforgettable adventures. One of these was snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef. Getting to dive down and see the fish was amazing and seeing the vibrant and colorful coral was a breathtaking sight. The coolest part was that we were able to get a great day weather-wise and the visibility was pretty high under the water’s surface. Week 8 in Cairns

This past week we concluded our courses for the semester which made for a busy week of final exams, presentations, and papers. As an overall sentiment, I was pretty happy with the results of my classes and enjoyed much of my coursework. My parents were around on Monday and then left to return back to the States. My Aunt was in Sydney on Friday as well and I got the chance to catch up with her at dinner in the Rocks. Weekend in Hamilton Island – Week 7

This past weekend I had the pleasure of spending time in Hamilton Island in the Whitsunday Islands with my parents and my aunt who arrived in Australia on Friday. When we arrived after the about 3 hour flight we were ushered to the hotel via golf cart. The island itself only services about 4 flights a day in and out and golf cart or shuttle is the main form of transportation. Week 6 in Sydney

This week I did not travel to Hunter’s Valley with the rest of the Bucknell crew, but instead stayed in Sydney with my visiting parents. This weekend, I spent an amazing time in Sydney with my parents, exploring some of the city’s most beautiful coastal spots and enjoying great food along the way. It was the perfect mix of relaxation, sightseeing, and quality time together. On Saturday, we took the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly Beach, one of Sydney’s most iconic seaside destinations. Week 5 in Sydney

This past week in Sydney, I got to experience two ends of the spectrum of experiences that the city has to offer. On Friday the lively and rowdy crowds of Sydney’s rugby scene and on Sunday the creative and artistic work highlights of the Sydney Opera House.   Visiting Allianz Stadium to watch a rugby game was amongst one of my favourite memories made thus far on our trip. Week 4- Weekend in Melbourne

This past week I unfortunately had another relatively uneventful week. However, this past weekend we spent two full days exploring the city of Melbourne. In Melbourne, we had the chance to take a tour of the city, go out to local restaurants and bars, and visit some museums and local shops. One highlight of the weekend was getting to hear about the history of Melbourne’s creation and formation into its modern day form.
