15 Minutes Of Bliss

This past week, I may have or may not have flown a bit too close to the self care sun. I indulged in activities that have allowed me to embrace a slower pace, prioritizing comfort and self-care. The main character this week was the weather. You wouldn’t believe the extremes, because I certainly didn’t! Everyday I say it can’t get any crazier, but yet it does. We had planned to visit Universal Studios, but when we woke up to the pouring rain, we decided to stay in and simply go back to sleep. It honestly felt like we were deep […]

Light Shows and the Singapore F1 Track

This weekend, I was fortunate to be able to spend time with my parents. On Saturday at 6am, both of my parents landed in Singapore from West Palm Beach, Florida. I set my alarm early and prepared for a busy day exploring the city with them. We first walked around raffles place and then decided to walk towards the Singapore Flyer Ferris wheel and the F1 grid. Not only was this a good opportunity to explore parts of the city I hadn’t already, but it was also a great time to show my parents the city I have been working […]

Week 13 Blog

At work this week, I had the opportunity to dive deeper into the world of climate-related financial disclosures. This topic is becoming more and more relevant in today’s corporate world. My main task this week was to draft two newsletters: one focusing on climate-related risks that companies face, and the other on the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) regulations and their effects on SGX-listed companies. Researching and writing these newsletters taught me a lot about how regularly bodies are pushing for more transparency in how companies report on sustainability. I didn’t realize […]

Week 5

This week I continued to explore Singapore with my roommates.  This city continues to amaze me and I am having the best time exploring not only this city but this part of the world, which had previously seemed so inaccessible to me.   My roommates and I are beginning to plan some last minute trips to places we want to see before we head back stateside.  The great thing about Singapore’s central location is that flights to many places nearby are relatively cheap.  For example, we are beginning to plan our big trip to Japan!  My employer was generous enough to […]

Week 5 in Singapore – Matthew Lee

During this week, I did a lot of sightseeing all around Singapore. On Thursday night, I went to watch the sunset at East Coast Park. Then on Friday night, I went up to the Pinnacle Skybridge to watch the sunset over the city skyline. Lastly on Saturday, I went to the Jurong Lake Gardens to see the Chinese and Japanese Gardens. Pinnacle Skybridge Seeing the sunset from the Pinnacle Skybridge was truly amazing. Here in Singapore, it’s not too often when we get a nice sunset, mostly because it’s either rainy or cloudy. So, when I saw it was sunny […]

2 Week hiatus recap with Steve and A reunion with the Trevisani’s

First I would like to apologies for all my readers that I missed last weeks update. To recap last week, work was so dull. I was doing some meaningless research and finished it early. I practically have to beg for more work because I am bored and have nothing to do. The highlight of the days are that my co-workers take me to get some really good food every time. Im telling you the waffles here are to die for. The real highlight last week was the weekend. Friday was a nice reunion dinner with Mrs. Trevisani and ol’ Lukey […]
