Wholesome

This week I have been able to explore the city more, and venture out with my family here! I started the week off strong and ended up running around the entire length of the botanic gardens, exploring the entire park this time. I found such remote paths and eventually was led to the art gallery there. After laying on the lawn for a bit, I found an amphitheater next to a lake with another beautiful lawn that I will definitely be lounging on one day when I bring a book and a picnic.  I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the […]

Asia Pacific Week 12- Trails, Turns, and Tales

Hello friends! Time is flying by and I now stumble upon the 13th week of my semester abroad in the Asia Pacific region! This makes seeing as many places as possible even more imperative, so I have fewer second thoughts going home. I have prioritized going out and exploring random locations, which is quite fun. This leads to an interesting point about my experiences so far this week. I have run into people I know twice this week by sheer luck. This occurred during my lunch break with my colleagues when I saw Lauren and Bianca, who work at Blockoffice. […]

Week 12 in Sydney

Getting to visit Queenstown was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my time so far abroad. The variety of scenery and activities that were available to us were a great change from the Sydney metropolitan area.  On the first day we arrived we rented a car and traveled around the town getting to see some awesome views of the lake on Bob’s Cope. The breathtaking views in combination with the serenity of the area was exactly what I was looking for after spending the past couple months in Sydney. The wildlife there and their passion for exploration is clearly an […]

Week 12 in Asia Pacific

What a roller-coaster of a week I just had! It proves the statement that tourism can be stressful at times. At the end of last week and the beginning of this past week, I spent time traveling to Phuket, Thailand. On Monday, I was supposed to travel back to Singapore via Kuala Lumpur, where I planned to spend almost a full day before flying back to Singapore later that night. The day before, I prepared all necessary documentation and checked in online for the flight, assuming everything was under control. However, when I arrived at the airport in Phuket early […]

Singapore – Week 3

This week I spent 175,000 for a pack of pistachios. Thankfully, the currency was in Indonesian Rupiahs so it equaled around $10 USD. I mean, in a world where pistachios cost $175,000 USD I would be spending my time learning how to build fires and developing skills to become a hunter gatherer. My Mom visited this week and as a result she suggested we take a mother son trip to Indonesia. Without hesitation I agreed because I would have to be crazy to pass up on that opportunity. On Saturday the 5th, we began our trip to Bawah Reserves, a […]

Studying Abroad in Singapore: Week 12

I spent this past week at work finding options for new vendors to contact for future jobs. I also helped with some client contracts and paperwork for work being done on some of the properties.  On Tuesday, my Boss took Penelope and I to Lunch. We went to a traditional Indonesian restaurant called Pagi Sore. We enjoyed some grilled chicken, crispy tofu, and a spicy eggplant dish. It was fun getting to know my boss better and getting a native’s perspective on Singapore.  On Saturday we woke up early for a cooking class. We drove a little outside of the […]
